Evolve Community
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Evolving Coherence Ltd (company number 15790054) ("we", "us") is committed to collecting as little personal data as possible to run the Evolve community. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights.
1. What we collect, and why
We deliberately keep this list short. We do not track you, sell your data, or collect anything beyond what's needed to run the Community.
| Data | Why we collect it | Where it's held |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email address | To create your Skool membership account, communicate with you, and deliver your free copy of Protecting Planet Earth | Skool (account) and our email tool, for the one-off book delivery |
| Payment details | To process your £10/month membership fee (or your chosen higher amount) | Skool's payment processor (Stripe) — we never see or store your full card details ourselves |
| Your posts, comments, and activity within the Community | This is the Community itself — visible to other Members as part of participating | Skool |
| Correspondence if you email us (e.g. a complaint, a hardship request, a cancellation) | To respond to you and keep a record in case of a dispute | Our email inbox (evolve@christophergladwell.com) |
We do not collect: browsing analytics/tracking cookies on the Evolve page beyond what's strictly needed for the page to function, your physical address (unless you choose to give it to us for correspondence), or any data from you beyond the above.
2. Legal basis for processing
We process your data because: (a) it's necessary to perform our contract with you (running your membership, taking payment, delivering the book); and (b) in the case of complaint/hardship correspondence, our legitimate interest in resolving issues fairly, which we consider does not override your own privacy rights given the limited, relevant nature of what's discussed.
3. Third parties who process your data on our behalf
- Skool — hosts the Community, your membership account, and (via Stripe) processes payment. See Skool's own privacy policy at skool.com/privacy for how they handle your data.
- Heart Internet — hosts the evolve@christophergladwell.com mailbox (accessed via Gmail) and any automated delivery of the free book.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone else, including advertisers.
4. How long we keep your data
- While you're a Member: for as long as your membership is active, plus the time needed to resolve any open complaint or dispute.
- After you cancel: we delete or anonymise your data within 90 days of cancellation, except where we're legally required to keep financial records for longer (UK tax law generally requires keeping records related to payments for 6 years) — in that case we keep only the minimum needed (e.g. transaction records), not your Community activity.
- Email correspondence: kept for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter, then deleted.
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR (and EU GDPR if you're in the EU), you have the right to: ask what personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten"), except where we need to keep it for a legal reason (e.g. tax records); ask us to restrict or object to certain processing; receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email evolve@christophergladwell.com. We'll respond within one month.
6. International transfers
Skool and its payment processor (Stripe) may process data outside the UK/EU. Where this happens, they are responsible for ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses); see their own privacy policies for details.
7. Children
Evolve is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy if what we collect or how we use it changes, and post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be flagged to existing Members.
9. Contact
