Christopher's Story
Over four decades of study, science and depth practice translated to everyday language, for you, to help you excel
Author, speaker and educator in embodiment, breathwork, mind mastery and evolutionary biology.
Methodology
Evolving Coherence
Four pillars that work together. Practise one and the others move; neglect one and the whole structure leans.

| Colour | Pillar | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SE | Intelligence and insight that lives in the body, and where change becomes lived and durable. | |
| ICB | Breathwork with physiological and functional literacy, as a prime lever of state, and of psychoemotional optimisation. | |
| MM | A functional felt map of drives, conditioning, attention, authenticity, affect, agency, actualisation, and presence. Plus the tools of self-applied neuroplasticity to initiate, sustain, and establish transformation of perspective, insight, intuition, identity, and generate transparency of all psycho-emotional patterns. | |
| RI | Coherence, explored, tested, and established through effective presence and communication where it matters most, in contact, intimacy and relationship with other people, and with our environment. | |
| SELFING | The neural process of self creation through referencing internal and external phenomena, and from this crafting identity, who one is and who one is not. | |
| AWARENESS | The foundational somatic, affective, and cognitive substrate of being from which selfing, attention, and orientation arise. |

Christopher Gladwell is a globally recognised author, speaker, and educator, renowned for pioneering work in human optimisation, embodiment, breathwork, mind mastery, and applied evolutionary biology.
Christopher's authority wasn't built in a classroom, it was forged through childhood adversity, military service, a microlight crash, and a serious road accident, and the long, uncompromising work of recovery such exigencies demand. Every method he now teaches has first been personally lived, tested, and rebuilt out of necessity.
Necessity and grace led him through over four decades of disciplined training in athletics, breathwork, martial arts, yoga, and deep study within Vedic yogic, Tibetan Vajrayana, and Native American shamanic traditions, alongside rigorous training in psychological therapies, neuroscience, and body-based therapies.
His breathwork practice began in the 1970s and his formal contemplative practice began in the early 1980s. This was long before breathwork or meditation were subjects of clinical research. This gives Chris a practitioner's understanding of what intelligent breathwork and meditation can actually do to a human nervous system, and to see where the traditional and contemporary maps fall short.

As respiratory physiology, neurobiology, trauma and resilience neuroscience, and psychology matured as fields, Christopher spent two decades integrating that research into his teaching and his practice. The result is work that is mechanistically precise without ever losing the felt, embodied quality of the practices, a combination that inspires the sceptic and the seeker alike.
These are the foundations of the Evolving Coherence Method (ECM): a practical, trainable framework integrating the four pillars of somatics & embodiment, intelligent conscious breathwork, mind mastery, and relational intelligence. ECM restores functional alignment between mind, body, breath, and environment, so that people can rest in full presence and being with the full weight and potential of their lives without collapse, domination, or withdrawal.
Today Christopher teaches and coaches individuals, clinicians, athletes, leaders, and organisations including Google, Macmillan, and Greenwich University, and is the author of several books, including co-authoring both volumes of The Evolving Breath on the science and practice of breathwork with James Earls.
As you might expect, Christopher's work reaches a growing international community, yet at its core, it remains deliberately personal: one-to-one, high-trust, and built for those ready to stop managing their limitations, and start training their incredible potential with the authentic discipline, acceptance, humour, compassion, and rigour that such practices and such potential demands.
